Whether you are a couple or a couple of good friends, a long weekend in the mountains might be just what you need. This 3-day itinerary has suggestions for the best winter hiking, dining, and downtime.

Day 1

Dining Wine glasses clinking

Plan ahead and surprise your sweetie and call to have flowers delivered from Designed Gardens, conveniently located across the street.

After a late afternoon check-in, review your options for dinner reservations for tonight. Fine dining options abound. Take an evening stroll through the village to Vito Marcello’s Italian Bistro, voted as the Best Date Spot in 2019. Enjoy Italian imported pasta and fine wine. Just around the corner is Chef’s Bistro serving up fresh, local, and delicious food in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Day 2

Shopping REI

Knowing that winter adventures are in your future, your first full day in town should involve visiting some of our major outdoor retail outlets on the “strip” in North Conway. REI opened a retail experience center recently and their gear selection is truly epic. Mainstay LL Bean is just a few buildings away, with their iconic boots, outerwear, and casual clothing for sale. EMS is just up the road. Prepare for winter hiking later in the week.

In the afternoon, take a romantic twirl together on skates in the ice skating rink in Schouler Park. It’s in front of the vintage train station with majestic mountain views to the west.

Day 3

Couple walking out with skis

Get up and at ‘em early! There are so many options for outdoor activities, it’s hard to know where to start. Might we recommend you stop at Great Glen Trails, just a breath-taking drive up Route 16 from Eastern Slope Inn? There you can shoeshoe, cross country ski, go tubing or take a ride up Mount Washington in the Snowcoach. Discounts available for Eastern Slope Inn guests.
